2017 Assam Rolled Organic Black Tea, Loose Leaf

Pretty nice tea, smooth and balanced, slightly acidic. Tasting notes: fruity (prunes, baked raisins), cocoa nibs, some fleeting floral notes, a bit of nuttiness and a slight minerality. The liquor has some viscosity to it, and is even a bit oily. I have tasted it side by side to a fresh Assam, and while this [Thai tea] is obviously less fragrant, it's more complex and interesting and I clearly prefer it.

I haven't figured out why I like this tea so much. It has some really nice and well balanced flavors, Apples, Honey, Grapes, Mint, and the tea itself can withstand a few rounds of brewing gongfu. It's got a nice acidic kick mixed with the fruity floral flavors that probably come from the rolled processing. While it hints at some of those flavors you see in high oxidized rolled oolongs, it very much is an Assam Black Tea. It has the strength and slight smokiness of an Assam and has the fully oxidized dry flavor that rounds out the profile. I did medium length steeps, despite it being a black tea, and it has help up really well through all of the steeps.

Very decent, I drink black tea or oolong when it's not up to the sheng or pu-erh time is gone already, for example in the evening, when sheng pu-erh is better not to drink.

Great flavor very complex and smooth, even the ending 5 infusions its still sweet after glow. I never noticed any bitterness. really impressed with this tea.

Spherical Assam - made in the best tradition of its kind. It allows to flexibly manipulate the result. Put it more or steep it longer - it hit the brutal drinkers, average brewing - it pleases aesthetes. It suits a lot for the tea conversation with dried fruits and natural sweets. I am satisfied with it. Its main feature, in my opinion, is that it is better to brew in a big pot, put more but steep less. Then it becomes brightly calm with a noble smooth and velvety taste.
